Terms of Use

Effective date: 1 October 2026 · Last updated: 1 October 2026

These Terms govern your access to and use of MyJa Studio ("we", "us", "our"), a professional computation and mapping tool for land surveyors in Uganda. By signing in with Google, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Notice.

The short version: MyJa Studio is a computational aid, not a substitute for professional judgement. You own your work. We do not verify your output. You are responsible for the survey, the data you upload, and any plan you submit.

01Acceptance

By registering, signing in, uploading a file, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

02Eligibility and account security

MyJa Studio is offered to professional users who can lawfully enter into binding obligations. You are responsible for safeguarding your Google account credentials and for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, sign out and contact us immediately.

03Privacy

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Notice, which aligns with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 of Uganda. Read it before uploading any data that identifies a third party.

04Your data, uploads, and warranties

You retain ownership of the coordinate abstracts, DXF files, and other job data you upload. You grant MyJa Studio a limited licence to store, back up, sync, and display that content to you, solely to operate the service.

Where your uploads contain personal data about third parties — landowner names, plot holders, neighbour names, or any identifying information — you confirm that you have a lawful basis to process that data and that you have applied data minimisation.

Do not upload national ID scans, bank statements, medical records, or any personal data not strictly necessary for the survey. MyJa Studio does not verify the accuracy or lawfulness of anything you upload.

05Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

06Notice, review, and removal

We may investigate reports of inaccurate, unlawful, or excessively intrusive data. Where appropriate we may restrict content, suspend accounts, or cooperate with regulators or law enforcement when legally required.

We are not a court. We cannot adjudicate boundary disputes, ownership questions, or valuation disagreements. Users remain responsible for professional verification of boundaries, values, and ownership facts before any legal or administrative use.

07Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Cadastral depictions, traverse results, area schedules, and any other output are computational aids. They are not verified by us for legal accuracy. Every output must be independently checked by a qualified surveyor before it is used in a legal, financial, or administrative proceeding.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Ugandan law.

08Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ugandan law, MyJa Studio and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or your reliance on its output.

09Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyJa Studio and its operator against claims, losses, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful processing of personal data, or your violation of third-party rights.

10Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Courts of Uganda shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory statutory protections available to you.

11Changes and contact

We may amend these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where the law permits.
